My passion first and foremost is for web design and production. I love everything from sketching new layouts and creating architecture of websites, to designing the sites and making them function. Whether it’s HTML, CSS, PHP, Flash, and even Wordpress, I love creating all kinds of sites! while I don’t consider print to be my specialty, I’ve actually won two awards with some of my logo and print designs (go figure right?). I especially love making t-shirts! They are so expressive and I love seeing a concept go from sketches, to a design, to the final product! I think it’s important to get out of your comfort zone every now and then and print design definitely stretches me just when I need it!

ironically, when I first went into school I thought “I want to shoot and edit video” and when I left i thought “wow, shooting and editing video is the last thing I want to do!”. While I don’t want to pursue video production as a career, I still find doing a video every now and again very refreshing. I’ve had experience in pre-production with storyboarding, writing scripts, and creating shot lists, to the actual production, camera operator, director, audio engineer, lighting technician, and even talent (hey, sometimes we gotta do it all lol) all the way to post-production, editing (avid and final cut pro), animation (after effects), and dvd authoring.

I guess social media would fit in this category for now. While people may claim to be experts at it, I think we’re all still figuring it out. I think there’s two kinds of people when it comes to using social media for their brands. 1) the ones who realize that there is a strategy that can be developed to use social media effectively and 2) those who want to be there because everyone else is there, or so they think. I’ve created over 25 Facebook Pages and have recently began learning different FBML techniques. I’ve also created strategies for Twitter as well. Creating an online presence and voice through social media is an area I’ve been growing into a passion for. I think the opportunity to engage with your audience is so powerful and I love the fact that no one knows where it’s headed next! :)
